The Clifton Independent School District Board of Trustees voted unanimously to call a bond election to be held May 10, 2014. The election, totaling $23.3 million, includes the construction of an entirely new Clifton Elementary School as well as a 750-seat auditorium addition at the high school. This bond will address an aging campus for grades Pre-K through 5 that is not compliant with current Texas Education Agency standards and provides for the addition of performance space at the middle and high school level. This bond package was developed by a citizens’ bond steering committee consisting of local citizens, business leaders, parents and school staff. The committee met, studied the district’s current educational facilities and worked to develop a bond package.
